You can migrate your existing assembler to a new static IP or make other network changes at any time.

Automatic Migration

If you know you will be migrating ahead of time, we can update the settings on your behalf via an automated task we assign to the assembler, as long as:

1. The assembler is still connected and using the old network info.
2. You have all of your updated migration details available (these may include the IP address, netmask, gateway server, and/or DNS server).
3. We have sufficient advanced notice to perform the work.

If you meet the above criteria, contact our support team and provide your migration details. We will then route the request to the appropriate team(s) for completion. For all other situations, refer to the Manual Migration instructions for steps to update.

Manual Migration

If you have already disconnected your assembler and made network changes, or if you otherwise would like to handle the updates yourself, you can complete this task by updating the configure_static_ip file in the assembler's virtual machine.

1. Log in to Workbench.
2. In the side menu, navigate to Organization Settings > Assemblers.
3. Locate the assembler and select the View Login Credentials link to obtain the credentials for the virtual machine.
4. Log in to the virtual machine.
5. Use a tool such as vi or nano to edit the /usr/local/sbin/configure_static_ip.sh file, and replace the following values with your new ones:
   • IP address
   • Netmask
   • Gateway server
   • DNS server
6. Save the file.
7. Use the reboot command to reboot the virtual machine.
8. Log back in, and use the ip addr command to validate that the new settings were applied correctly.
9. Your assembler should come online within 10-15 minutes, and the connected security devices should also show as healthy around that time. 

If your assembler and/or connected devices still do not show as healthy after 15 minutes, contact our support team for additional help.
